Hmmm… I keep trying to come up with a better way to describe the Stila Lip Glazeformula and so far I’ve only come up with glue.
I LOVE Stila as a brand. I LOVE when makeup is designed and utilized by makeup artists. That’s the ultimate sign of credibility for me. Stila was all the craze back in the 90s. In my opinion they are slow but steady and continue to be a vastly underrated brand. Their eyeshadows are like butter, but never mentioned in the online beauty community.
Oddly enough, one of their products which seems to be often loved and hyped is the only product I can’t manage to get on with.
In come the Stila Lip Glazes. I can’t get around the fact that the formula feels like glue, both in application and while on the lips.
I realize the sticky formula leads to longevity, but I personally would rather reapply my gloss throughout the day rather than have my lips get glued shut every time they touch.
To be fair, the colors are gorgeous. The application is convenient and hygienic. And the formula is long lasting (both on the lips as well as in the tube). I’ve had mine for a year and the gloss/glaze has yet to go bad.
On the other hand, you get very little product for $22.00, even if you manage to tolerate the goopy texture.
I’m really not sure what I’m missing here. Should I try them over a lip liner? Would the glaze glide on easier over lined lips? I keep holding on to my two lip glazes because the colors are beautiful, but I’m still not certain as to whether the fault is with me or the formula.
