The Caudalie Balancing Concentrate has got to be one of the most underrated facial oils ever!
This little bottle of goodness is from the Vinopure line and targeted toward combination skin.
I have oily skin and love it. With the exception of super dry folks in the winter, I think this oil would suit just about anyone beautifully. I never thought oil could be so light in texture. It comes in a small glass bottle with the most adorable little glass dropper.
I realize most people find glass inconvenient for travel, but the beautiful thing about glass is that it keeps the product pure. Some chemicals, even when on the “natural” side, are highly reactive. Putting a reactive chemical in a plastic bottle means that the chemical will react with the plastic casing and lose its purity and in turn its efficacy.
The ingredients consist of lemon as well as eucalyptus and lemongrass essential oils. The citrus grove scent is pleasant, but definitely not mild. The directions suggest warming 6 drops in your hands and patting over clean skin. I find that I need almost double the amount, especially if my skin is feeling thirsty or if I work the product over my neck. The scent does eventually dissipate.
The Caudalie site calls this a “booster for your moisturizer”, so this is designed to be used either on its own or as a pre-moisturizer in the evening (hence the little moon on the bottle). It’s meant to regulate sebum production and have a balancing effect on the skin with continued use. I haven’t found my skin to be particularly more balanced, but I do feel a hint of brightening when I first wake up in the morning.
I really lucked out and found this at my local Nordstrom Rack for $12.00!
I got it months ago, but it’s still available on the Caudalie site so it has not been discontinued.
