Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Stay Matte Pressed Powder by Rimmel London is literally everything I would ever want or need in a setting powder rolled into one.

No powder has ever come close to its ability to absorb oil without looking caked on.

The powder stays on most of the workday without requiring any touching up.

I tend to turn to blotting papers mid-day, without adding any more powder for coverage.

It’s a nice change, as most powders tend to melt away and disappear from my oily complexion by lunchtime.

It provides some coverage, giving my foundation application a smooth and even finish.

I use shade 004 Sandstorm, a perfect match for my NC30 (in MAC) complexion.

The texture and formulations is a good balance between milled enough to apply evenly, but not too finely milled to settle into pores or fine lines.

All this for less than 5 bucks!

I don’t have any criticism, but I’ll point out a couple of things for the sake of balancing out all my prior raving.

The packaging isn’t particularly sturdy; so don’t just toss it in your handbag and hope for the best.

It doesn’t come with an applicator, so you should plan on always having a powder brush handy.

Regarding the formula itself, it’s not ideal for the under eye area.

It can be a bit drying, but then again the powder is aiming to absorb oil and not hydrate.

All in all, this Rimmel classis packs an awful lot of punch, especially considering the price point.
