Night-A-Mins

I don’t know what time-released resurfacers are, but apparently the High-Potency Night-A-Mins moisturizer by Origins has got them (and I want them).

Night-A-Mins moisturizer by Origins hands down wins the award for most number of hyphens used in a title. Aside from that silly little fact, the moisturizer itself is pretty great.

It is offered in an original and oil-free formula.

Right off the bat, if you don’t like citrus smells then you will find the mild bergamot scent of this product off putting.

What’s really interesting about the formulation is that the product is paraben free.

The oils are essential and natural oils, making the oiled version thick and more emollient, but not heavy or clog inducing.

Both formulas tout vitamins C, E, and H as the main ingredient.

The benefits of Vitamin C in skincare are undeniable. Vitamin C has anti-oxidative properties. It can repair the skin while also protecting it from free radicals (which is why it is said to increase sunscreen efficacy).

Vitamin E is also a potent anti-oxidant, making it an agent of anti-aging.

Vitamin H is a B Vitamin and a fancy name for biotin. Biotin deficiency is rather uncommon since it is readily found in everyday foods such as eggs, but biotin supplements for hair and nails have become a rather trendy concept nonetheless.

All of these 3 vitamins are pretty amazing and tried and true. All 3 are also present in both the original and oil-free version of Night-A-Mins.

A tub of Night-A-Mins lasts for at least 6 to 8 months, especially since it’s only meant to be used at night. The oil-free version is very thin, so I use it both in the morning and evening despite being an oily faced gal.

I’m still a little confused about the time-released resurfacer. Is it an actual ingredient or the interaction effect of vitamins C, E, and H? I’m not quite sure, but I’m happy with both versions of Night-A-Mins overall so I’m not going to nitpick.

At the risk of sounding too hyped about skincare, it would be very exciting if Origins expanded the Night-A-Mins line to include eye creams and cleansers. In the meantime, a big thumbs up for both formulas of Night-A-Mins!
